Current implementation of Onhand Inventory displays product name from table method, instead of a column, so the user can't filter on product name. I have created a view based on InventTable, EcoResProduct, and EcoResProductTranslation (we only use one language), and it to the form's datasource, but how to set JoinSource and LinkType and etc so that my query can associated with the InventSum as a single data source?

Alternative items in AX2012: set to "Nothing in inventory"
Hi all,
I have a question regarding the use of the parameter "Use alternative item" in AX2012. I have set this parameter to "Nothing in inventory". When I have nothing in inventory of item 1102 I want to replace it by 1103 in AX on a sales order line.
Now my question: what means "Nothing in inventory"? (It seems quite simple, but it isn't. I don't know if it's a bug). Parameter "Physical stock" on storage dimension group is enabled, because I suppose this has an influence :)
Example 1: Sales order line quantity for item 1102 = 10 and selling warehouse A. Available physical inventory in warehouse A is 0 and in warehouse B also 0. What will AX suggest: replace or not?

AX 2012 R2 CU7 - Intercompany timesheet problems
We are in the proces of upgrading from R2 to R2 CU7. During the tests we have experienced a problem with the intercompany timesheet in relation to financial dimensions. Before CU7 the dimensions on the time registrations were created from the projects financial dimensions (as we need them to be) but with CU7 it seems as if the dimension are created from the workers financial dimensions. This will not work in my company. Has anybody an idea if this change relates to setup (where?) or to basic functionality changes implemented by Microsoft?

Retail Sync Service gives an error while installing
Whenever I tried to install Retail components, they all install correctly except the 'Sync Service'.
After providing configuration details for retail components in the setup, the installation creates databases for Retail POS, but when it comes to creating a database for Synch service with a cmd screen opened, it gives an error and installation executes a rollback. Error says insance was not installed as expected contact your vendor.
I checked the SQL privileges for the user and make sure user had all of them.
It seems to me that the problem occurs while creating or validating database for Commerce data exchange but these services were working fine on previously installation of mine with similar settings. Real time services installed correctly.

AX2012 R2 CU6 Module Problem
Hello!
We were using a new AX2012 R2 CU6 standard environment without any problems.
We have created a new legal entity with the BRA (Brazil) country code, and after this we were able do work with the Fiscal Book module. Everything were working fine.
After to install the DIEF this module is not there anymore. It just desapeared from the AX menu.
I am able to see it in the AOT>Menu, but users, including me, can not see it from AX menu.
Is there something i can do to "restore" this module?

AX 2012 R2: Visual studio tools on Visual Studio 2012
Hi Experts,
I am having issue on visual studio development tools of AX 2012 R2 on VS2012. The installation was successful but when i open VS2012, i don't see the Dynamics AX project template and Application explorer.
Is vs tools supported in VS 2012 or not? do i need to do anything extra?

Error while attempt to delete free text invoice
After on Accesslevel the privilige for CustFreeInvoiceMaintain has been modified from read to delete do I receive an error while deleting a non posted free text invoice. This error is logged in the SQL Statement Trace Log.

Developing Production Job Sequencing Mechanism in AX 2012
We are planning to build production Job Sequencing mechanism in AX 2012. User can run the 2nd pass of sequencing and scheduling on top of standard system scheduling. User can define the constraint and various scheduling scenarios to calculate setup time based on the sequence in which products are scheduled.
Can you kindly let me know the things to keep in mind?
Questions out of curiosity
- Can we have multiple process type jobs for the same production order?
- What impact do you foresee if we split the process types job into multiple quantities (i.e. instead of having one run time job for 500 Pcs, we will have 5 process types of job, each for 100 PCs which can be scheduled individually)
- What if we have one setup job for each run time job?
I know that many of you will suggest to have one production order for 100 Pcs each to achieve the same but due to some reason it is not feasible for us to maintain many orders.

Install axapta client ONLY with MSI parameters
HI,
I need to install the axapta 2009 client on some computers remotely.
I have a complete axapta suite and can run setup with some parameters, which works with the following parameters in a .bat file:

And the client configs are stored on a server with UNC:

This installs the client only and works fine sofar, however the problem is that the suite folder is about 2Gb and i ONLY need to install the client.!!
My plan is to have the setup + parameters packed in advanced installere for easy distribution from systemcenter etc, but i dont want the package to be anoying 2000MB when i only need the client.
I tried to find the client MSI package only and trying some parameters to this but i have not been able to get a solution.
Can anybody help me, please?
Solution needed: Axapta client 32 and 64 bit installation with the above parameters.

_Model databases - newbie questions
Hi all, I'm an experienced developer but new to AX development.
A tool I'm developing will have to read AOT enums externally.
By which I mean it will need to check the enums to see if there are customised values etc.
The tool will have permission to read databases but will almost certainly not have access to the dlls for reading AOT data.
For AX2012R2 installations it looks like I can get what I need from the xxxxx_Model database but I can not find as much detail as I'd like about how the tables are related to each other and to the AOT.
For earlier versions of AX2012 and for legacy versions AX2009 and AX4 I've seen hints on various websites that the AOT data is held in tables in the main AX database but I haven't found out more detail - which tables they are would be an excellent thing to know :)
Can anybody point me at appropriate documentation?

Dear All,
I am a application administrator for AX at the company i work for. Currently we are in the final stage of implementing AX2012R2 and I'm faced with modeling the security.
One of the tools i use to accomplish this is the Security Development Tool. This tool makes my life a bit easier but it has it's limits. I have the following issue:" Sometimes (actually it happens frequently) the users report an error. As an example:" Yesterday a few users reported a stop error "acces denied" on method transfer on class LedgerPostingGeneralJournalController. Apparently the entry points I used to form the privilege did not include this server method. Eventually i managed to find the solution by googling for the class. But I'm sure this can't be the solution for dealing with this.
Now my question is:" Isn't there a way to link the class / method to an existing entry point or is there a reference sheet/list/page where all default/standard entry points are listed with the object included in the entry point?

Synchronize on line orders not responding

I downloaded the Virtual instance from the Microsoft partner source. I'm using it on the i5 processor & 32 GB of memory with 24 GB Memory for the Virtual instance. I faced some problem on the catalog validation process. So I deleted all the product from the catalog & validated it works fine now. Now I can create a new product & I can publish it. But I am not able to checkout after adding the new product to the cart. The screen shot of the error:
So i just purchased the existing product on the store. I got the order confirmation code also. So i went to AX side & ran the "P-0001_OC" job & i clicked the "Synchronize online orders" after that it is not responding. I just went to event viewer & checked the error status, it's seems to be like this:

Installation error : Web services on IIS AX2012 RTM
Hello Friends,
When I'm Installing the Web services on IIS component, I get the the following message
"Application Object Server (AOS) Services WSDL URL is accessible.
Attempt to access the WSDL port manually by entering the URI http://'servername':8102/DynamicsAx/Services/MetadataService. If you cannot access the URI and the firewall is on, work with your network administrator to determine why the URI on the AOS server cannot be reached."
I have turned off the firewall in my system. Even then I'm getting the same message.
How to tackle this problem?

How to read form line items using x++
I just try to read the invoice item lines for the opend invoice form. I have added one button on the action pane and override the clicked method and try to read the line items. I am using the below code.
But, the below code read all invoice items for the selected invoice and also other invoices.
