Approval workflow in AX

Hi, we are an ombudsman office dealing with complaints from citizens. Internally we have a simple linear supervision process. Case handlers submit proposals in Word templates to their senior, who may then reject with comments and/or tracked changes. The senior may also instruct the case handler to apply a different procedure, which will usually imply a change to the workflow process that was initially initated.
 
We have looked into CRM, and we don't really seem to find an answer for this type of workflow. So, do you think that AX allows, in a workflow, for Word-based proposals to be rejected + returned to the proposer, with tracked changes, and for rejection + instruction to initiate new workflow? We have done some homework looking around in fora, but did not find a precise answer.
