We have been using DMF (Data Migration Framework) for data import to AX 2012 (in a separate environment for test migration). We had some issues, but overall it worked fine. Now, we've upgraded to AX 2012 R2 and DMF doesn't seem to work anymore. All the processing groups, all the custom entities and all the mappings are gone after the upgrade. Then, we got surprised finding out that there is a new release on DMF or Data Import/Export Framework as it seems to be called now.
The technical guys are now preparing to install the new Data Import/Export Framework. Hopefully the installation will be successful.
We’ve put a lot of time and effort into creating several new custom entities, processing groups and doing all the mapping. The only thing left was actually to push the button a number of times to get the data from staging to target. That was not done because we were working in the Master Configuration Environment (MCE). After our work with DMF, MCE was upgraded to R2. After the upgrade all DMF-data was gone…
My question is if anyone knows if it’s possible and eventually how to keep the processing groups, custom entities, mappings and other “setup-stuff”, from the previous version?
