SalesLine.Name and ItemName (Product Name) on Sales Order

Hello,

I'm working with a CRM 2011 - AX 2012 integration using the Dynamics Connector.

I have an issue working with Order Products / Line items..

Our customer has a product in AX with no Product Name set, so that when they add it to an order, they can enter whatever they want in the "Text" field on Line details\General\Order Line. When they enter something there it will be copied to the Product Name field for that order line..

The problem is that they need to do the same thing in CRM 2011. So I have created a textfield there that I mapped successfully to this "Text" field in AX, but since there cant be any product without product names in CRM - the line item already has a product name and it doesn't get copied to the Product Name field on the line item..

Is there any way I can override this and copy the value from "Text" to "Product Name" even though the product already has a Product Name set?

Or is there anyone here with experience of the Dynamics Connector that can provide any insight?

Open popup on AxGridView HyperlinkBoundField

Hi I want to open a new dialog with TransactionData (CustTrans) relating to an entry in a grid view.

So when the user clicks on a vouchernum in the grind (CustCollectionLetterTrans) a popup should appear having the related CustTrans records in it

Is this possible and if yes...how?

DAX 2012R2 CU7 with add-in project

Hello,

I test the add-in project for DAX 2012R2 CU7 but I'm stuck when I try to open a project from Ax to Office Project 2010.

I get the following error in project : "The Microsoft Project file path in Dynamics AX is not setup, please contact the admin to set it up."

The Microsoft Project file path in Dynamics AX is already set. I tried a local and UNC path, the problem is the same.

In the file path, the project file is well stocked but the sync failed.

Any help would be great !

In server AX2012 when i'm starting service Microsoft Dynamics AX Object Server 6.2$01-MicrosoftDynamicsAX it is not starting giving me ERROR :-windows could not start the microsoft dynamics AX Object Server 6.2$01-MicrosoftDynamicsAX on local computer. for more information, review the system Event Log. If this is a non-microsoft service, contact the service vendor, and refer to service-specific error code 90.

Plz help to solve this problem

Performance Issues Dynamics AX 2012 R2

Hi,

We are a small business using Dynamics AX with no more then 10 users. We are running Dynamics AX 2012 R2 but it is very slow.

We have a clusterd hyper-v enviroment witch contain a VM for Small Business Server 2011, Remote Desktop Server (Windows 2008). AOS Server (Windows 2012). SQL Server 2012 (Windows 2012). We do this on two node cluster with dual E5-2630 processors per node. We have 96 memory per node and two drive groups  of 4 Intel SSD drives. All VM`s are Raid 10. There are two VM`s on each drive group.

AOS has 12GB of Memory and SQL 20GB of Memory.

The overal perfomance of the entire network is great. No problem with any apllication except AX.

Our AX partner says that the Hyper-V / Cluster is unsupported by microsoft and even if we want Microsoft to look at then they won`t because it`s unsupported.

We did some testing with on the servers with Performance Analysis of Logs (PAL) and we see some errors of ax32serve.exe with a possible memory leak.

Does anybody runs AX succesfully on a Hyper-V cluster or is our hardware to weak or do we have to focus on the memory leak or maybe disk performance?

I`m very intrested in what you are using for hardware and if you are running on hyper-v or not.

Error installing AX

I have this error, when installing Dynamics in an Azure virtual machine:

An error occurred in modifying the size and autogrowth properties of data and log files for database MicrosoftDynamicsAx_model

Reason: MODIFY FILE failed. File 'AXDBBuild_Data' does not exist.

Could you tell me what is this AXDBBuild_Data file, and why SOMETIMES the installation process does not find it?

After the error, if I launch the installation again, it succeeds without errors.

When I try to confirm a Sales order, I get the following message,

'Function PdsFormCtrl_SalesEditLines.updateDesign has been incorrectly called'

How do I debug this?

AX 2012 R2 VM in VirtualBox Contose WM

Hobe that you can help me.

I have this AX2012R2 running in a Virtual BOX.

First, I cut not use the Microsoft Dynamics AX Management Shell to get a list of defaults reports.

Then I tried to Register SRSFrameWorkService. I  gave me the error in DataContainerType.

Then I activated all levels(sys,syp,usr) in Macro DATACONTAINERTYPE so that all instances was activated.

But there were still this error in  DataContainerType.

I tried to do a full ‘Compile into .NET Framework CIL’

But thise gave me a lot of errors:

Type name does exist, The SysWEorkF..getattribute.. reflection API Please Check the Parameters…

……………

Hobe that somebody can give me a hint what to do?

Prevent closing a form

A new  two customized fields are added to HCMEmployment table, in HCMWorker form I need to perform the following:

-If the value of the first customized field is not zero and the value of the second customized field is still zero , the form should not be closed anda waring  message should be displayed for the user saying that this field should be filled.

The required checking and message code is added to ValidateWrite method on HcmEmployment datasourse on the Hcmworker form, the question is how can I prevent closing the HCMWorker form ?????

SQL Error when doing Ax 2012 CU3 TO Ax 2012 R2 In-Place Upgrade

Hi,

I still have problems getting the CU3 to R2 data upgrade. Below are the steps which we followed

We already have code upgrade done from CU3 to R2. We only have to do data upgrade from CU3 to R2.

Below are the steps we followed

AX2012 CU3 database

1. Deleted all Foundation upgrade objects and then synchronized the database. No syc errors.

2. No modifications to the core system classes (Application, Global, Info, Session)

3. None of batch jobs are in Waiting status

4. Took the DB backup

AX2012 R2 machine

1. Have restored the above CU3 database and provided full access to the current user to the DB

2. Client, debugger and AOS are already installed

3. Uninstalled the existing R2 AOS

4. Machine have enough space and 8 GB RAM

5. Have Exported the model store from R2 model database for already upgraded code from CU3 to R2 (this backup is taken from a different machine)

6. Run the AX2012 R2 setup and choose Database as the only option on the setup window. Choose to Configure an existing database and picked the

existing server and database(CU3 DB), and then choose to import the upgraded R2 model store(exported above).

7. After the database setup finishes, we saw model DB created successfully without any errors

8. Opend a command prompt where your AXUTIL.EXE is, and type in the command

axutil set /installmode /s:[ServerName] /db:[DB_Model]

9. Then installed the AX2012 R2 AOS only connecting to the above DB(data and model) and waited for the AOS to restart.

10. After AOS restarted, when trying to connect to AX getting lot of errors with sync issues as below

SQL error description: [Microsoft][SQL Server Native Client 10.0][SQL Server]Invalid column name 'PARTITION'.

SQL statement: SELECT

There is also an error which says

User 'Syeds' is not authorized to delete a record in table 'SYSCONFIG'. Request denied.

Cannot edit a record in Configuration keys (SysConfig).
Access Denied: You do not have sufficient authorization to modify data in database.

Current user is a sys admin on the machine and also have full access to both the above DB's.

Please let me know if i am missing something.

AX 2012 Main Account Template and Legal Entity Creation through Rapid Start

I have tried the above suggestions and when importing or pushing data through Rapid Start to the AX 2012 R2 CU7 instance, I receive the below error for all main accounts template lines

"The class AxCommon does not have a parmDEL_InventSettleCorrection_W method or field DEL_InventSettleCorrection_W is missing from the query."

I am using default templates provided by the tool and configuring AX using business process configuration (Order to Cash).

Has anyone come across this issue?

Another Issue:

I also came across another issue when pushing data through Rapid Start. I was not able to create a legal entity as part of the configuration process using the information provided in the Base Information step such as: legal entity name, code,..etc. Once I click on load data into Dynamics ERP (in this case AX 2012 R2 CU7), the following error is generated:

1. Error executing RapidStartSetup.setUpCompany method. Invalid parameter type. Expecting String, specified UtcDateTime

2. Company context KEN does not exist (in this case 'KEN' is the legal entity code)

The only way to push information to the KEN legal entity, is to manually create the legal entity in AX 2012 R2 CU7, then pushing data through Rapid Start.

Has anyone come across this issue?

Are "inactive" user sessions in ax2009 for web users something to worry about?

Hey all,

Sorry for the title, but it's pretty close to being the best I could think of for this question...

Today one of the BA's for my office came to me asking "how are you supposed to kill all these inactive sessions for a user?" ... I was confused what she was talking about and went about looking and it appears that if you go into online users and then search based on a user name it shows inactive status users, all of which are web users from our BI/EP server. 

i tried selecting the inactive user sessions and ending them, but it gives the confirmation box and then just closes after say you really want to kill the session off, but it doesn't remove it at all. Even more interesting to me is that some of these date back to 2011 and i know for a fact all of the servers have been rebooted since that point in time.

Anyways, I tried to google/bing this and there is just about no real information on inactive status web users out there and how to deal with them. So I'm hoping that someone here can help me out with info or what to do.

BOM Designer

AX2012-I have created  an Item (BOM type) and attahced a BOM to it.  It has 3 components, 2 items and one item which is also of BOM type. I noticed that when I attached the BOM type item(sub-BOM) the Icon  (ItemType) still is an Item. I approve and activate the BOM...I then click the BOM designer...in teh BOM designer, the sub BOM item could not be exploded anymore---and the icon attached to it is still an item( not a BOM).

Giving Priority to production orders

Hello, I am working with an Ax system with unfinite capacity. HOw can I give priority to planned production orders which are simultanously planned for the same date, meaning: today?! I want to put 1 specific order in front, in order to check if all materials are readily available with an explosion.

How to change color based on the company/environment

Hello,

Our users have been asking us to change the color of Ax environment based on the company selected. One way to accomplish this would be to change the background color of the forms by overriding the run method of SysSetupFormRun class and coding something like

this.design().backgroundColor(backGroundColor); in the method.

However this gives an unpleasant appearance, especially around the buttons and containers in the form.

Is there any way to assign the color of the title bar of the form/window or any other parts of the AX client besides the background color of forms?

I am wondering if it is possible to use WinAPI, and some dll functions such as those available in USR32.DLL to change the color of different parts of the window.
