Hi all,

kindly look into my issuse,

In ax 4.0> GL> Reports> Transaction> Declaration of sales Tax report.

When i'm trying to generate a report for dates 1st march to 31st march for dimension "BLR". it is giving an

error as "Sales Tax has not been specified". Most interesting in error, "i tryed giving dates apart form 1st to 31st march" the report will generate without error  and required information from dimension BLR. and when I chose Dimension "CHN as Chennai" it will generate full report with all information with input of all dates.

the oly problem is when im trying to generate a report for 1st-31st march for BLR-Bangalore dimension it will

give error sales tax not specified.

There are 4 dimension BLR,CHN,MUM and HYD. Only error with BLR dimension

Please somebody help me

We've recently gone live with Dynamics AX 2012 and have identified changes and fixes required for some of our workflows.

 When I import my latest workflow xml file from one environment to another I have to de-activate the current version and activate and make default the new workflow ID and version.

This seems to stop the currently running workflow instances and the "Workflow message processing" batch job returns the error "failed to find workflow".

I can only resume things by recalling any pending workflow instances which are using the old version and resubmitting them which uses the updated version.

Is this a known issue, or do we likely have a separate issue in our test environment?

It would seem strange to have restart all pending workflow instances whenever you want to make even the simplest of updates.

Any thoughts on this or assistance would be much appreciated, thanks.

The Connector for Microsoft Dynamics was activated on some environment (AX 2012 R2 CU7) through the ConnectorHelper class. It create the inbound port DynamicsConnectorDefaultServices, SQL Server change tracking parameters, triggers on multiple tables and may be other things that I didn't see.

What I would like to know is how to properly unistall this connector and all the database parameters that have been activated.

Do you have any information on how to achieve this ?

In AX system we have "company – SG" now and plan to have company – HK, and company – JP in future rollout, the company currency is SGD, HKD and JPY respectively. 

Currently we setup the exchange rate pair as SGD – A~Z  currency (SGD to AUD, SGD to EUR, SGD to USD, SGD to  ZAR) in our exchange rate table, this works for company – SG, but will not work for company - HK and company- JP. 

We are thinking either we switch to USD as base currency in the exchange rate table for all companies, or different pair for different company, for this case, HKD – A~Z for company – HK, and JPY-A~Z for company –JP.  If choose USD as base currency in exchange rate table, then we face triangular conversion and that involved denomination currency etc which is complicated and not support daily rate.

So what is the best practise to setup exchange rate base currencies and currency pairs for multiple-company which the company currencies are different?

I have code that has been written in the VAR layer and I need to modify it from the CUS layer.  I made the change in a class but the change is not being implemented. How can I acheive the change in the VAR layer? Thank you.

Hi,

Assume we have a non batch controlled item and 3 locations. 

A1 = 100 PCS, located at 1-Mar

A2 = 10 PCS, located at 1-Jan

A3 = 100 PCS, located at 1-Feb

If another 50 PCS goods incoming, then it will be put at A2 so it has 2 dates, 1-Jan 10 PCS and another 50 PCS today date (assume 1-Apr). I have test, if 100 PCS is picked, it will take from A1. Can we make AX suggest to pick from A2 and A3 first? Is there setup that I need to make?

I have setup an approval process with condition and limits but my PO's are automatically approving.

I set a condition if CC= XXX then Mgr Approval Process next I set up a condition <3000 one Mgr approves and above that limit a different Mgr would approve.  I enter a PO for both conditions and they are automatically approved it bypassing the workflow conditions.

Hi,

I found the problem/solution on KB, but the hot fix is for ax2012 RTM. My version is ax 2012 R3 CU8.

This hotfix is not on r3CU8 ? Do you apply the hot fix RTM on R3 CU8 ?

Hi,

We are a furniture manufacturing company that produces more than half of its production as non-standard.

We use AX 2012, but, couldn't manage to activate the manufacturing as we have a production speed faster than getting the BOM ready.

If you already faced or preferably solved such an issue, please kindly inform me.

Hi,

We have a scenario where we want a financial dimension to be defaulted in sales order header from sales responsible.

That is, financial dimension "Team" is selected for every employee. This dimension should flow to sales order based on Sales Responsible.

How do you think this is possible?

If we use supplemental hierarchy instead of the main product hierarchy will this cause issues with POS.

The issue is that we have a fertiliser manufacturer company and we want to list these products for sale through POS. Do we need the fertiliser's listed in the main retail hierarchy to be able to sell them or can we sell them from the supplemental hierarchy?.

In AX 2012 there are 3 service providers for daily exchange rate, but that requires the server to have internet access which currently disabled, also those service provider's currency pair is not as what we required.

How to setup the system to get daily exchange rate from Bloomberg? Shall AX get access to Internet, or take data downloaded from Bloomberg? We are thinking to build an fully automated process without manual download an import.

Hello, is it possible to alter the dimensions when the user inserts a new record in journal voucher screen?

(General journal > lines > journal voucher screen...)

Actually ax automatically inserts some data to financial dims such as Country etc.

How can I add custom fields as defaults dims when the user inserts a new voucher?

Hi all,

Im having a problem where im trying to import data with DMF into a custom table which holds a string field that has string size 'Memo'. I created a staging table with the equivalent staging field of string size 'Memo' but when i import data from an XLS into the staging table only 255 characters get imported and the rest is cut off.

Even if i try setting the staging field string size to something like 1000 characters i still get the same issue, only the first 255 characters are imported.

Does anyone know if this is a limitation of DMF or is this happening just to me? Has anyone else managed to successfully import more than 255 chars into staging tables from an XLS? I did not yet try other formats, only XLS.

Hello everyone,

For a while now I am struggling with an error in the attachment form smmDocuments. In AX we have two different attachment screens, one which we can drag our files to "[DRAG FILES HERE]" and one where we can add attachments using the "New" button.

The last one (where you create new attachments with the NEW button) works fine. The other one (drag-drop version) which is for example used in the 'Sales and Marketing\Prospects\Attachments' form causes AX to crash. When I open a drag-drop attachment form it immediately starts debugging and gives the following error:

(C)\Forms\smmDocuments\Designs\DesignList\DocuEmail\Methods\ToolTip - Line 7

This line says:

refTableId = tableReference ? tableReference : docuRef.RefTableId;

From that moment on every minute I get the same error and debugger starts again. Then I close AX, remove the AUC files in 'C:\Users\Willem\AppData\Local' and all works fine again (until I accidently open the attachment form again). 

Time to solve it. Does anyone know what the problem could be? Anyone seen this error before?

We use AX2012 R1 CU5.

How do i import employee(s) from excel sheet to AX? When i go to HR module> Common>Employee, I would like all the data to populate there with Employee names and their Personnel ID etc. There has not been any customization in HR Module. What would be the first step? Please advise.

I get a fatal error that hard crashes the AX 3.0 client with running the LeftJustified job.  It's on the scanning part.  No AOS, restarted client and it happens at the same spot.  What are my options at this point to start the upgrade data tool to get this data to the 2009 test environment if I can't run this tool first as is required.
