AX 2012 R2 and Windows 2012 R2

Hi,

The documentation says that Windows 2012 R2 is supported with AX 2012 R2 + CU7. Does anyone know if both the Application and Kernel must be upgraded to CU7 or if only the kernel is sufficient ?
