email documents from Enterprise portal 2012

Hi,

I have a requirement to be able to send emails from EP 2012 using SMTP.

I know this can be achieved from the Rich client in AX 2012. But struggling to get any break through to leverage the same functionality in EP

Any help in this regard is highly appreciated
