Hi,
I am trying to install AX2012 for the first time, using the instructions provided on Customer Source. I believe I have the database setup and an AOS running (both on the same Server). To get the DB to install I had to restore the demo DB onto the SQL Server and then update the Databases as the standard install had problems with Model Store. I saw a workaround on the net, i.e. restore another DB.
Now they are both installed, I have installed a client and am trying to connect but I get the error message: "Failed to log on to Microsoft Dynamics". In the event log I get the following error:
"The description for Event ID 110 from source Microsoft Dynamics AX cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer."
If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.
The following information was included with the event:
Unable to connect to an Application Object Server. A company name or server name may not be specified correctly in the client configuration, or the server specified may not be available.
I have tried to change the company in the config utility, but I am not sure what I should use. The client config is pointing to the right server and ports.
How can I tell where the problem lies. Is there some way to check the AOS is running correctly? The service "Microsoft Dynamics AX Object Server 6.0$01-MicrosoftDynamicsAX" is Started.
Any pointers you can give to help me find the source of the problem would be appreciated. Perhaps some tests/logs/events I can run or check?
