I've noted on the AX2012 R2 version that there is an additional license type "Server".
I know the meaning for all the other one but does someone know what Server means?
I tried to find any documentation but without success. the only thing I found is the following information from AX2012 R2 licensing guide.
All Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2 customers need to license:
- Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2 solution functionality, which is licensed through the Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2 Server license, and
- Access to the Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R2 solution functionality by users or devices, which is licensed through Client Access Licenses (CALs).
Does it mean that this license type needs to be set in case the functionality does not require a User/Device CAL, as it is basic functionality?
