Master Scheduling Query Filter not behaving as expected

Hi all,

I'll start this buy admitting that my expectations are probably the result of my AX-n00bness, but here we go:

The company has 4 distribution centres ("Sites"), and each SKU will be replenished in those DCs based on a number of factors. The most common case is that SKU XYZ will be stocked in some of the DCs and be replenished up to a minimum, plus layered POs for forecasted sales, while in other DCs the same SKU will be an "MTO" product, and will thus only be ordered (either purchase order or transfer from another DC) to fill demand as it pops up. The way that we have done this is by setting up Item Coverage on each SKU for the four DCs: for example, coverage group P1-18 is for ordering daily and filling demand only, whereas P7-18 is for the weekly ordering cycle for SKU/DC combinations that replenish to forecast.

Now, the issue I am having is as follows:

  • SKU XYZ has P7-18 coverage set up in 3 DCs (EDM, DEL, WPG) and P1-18 coverage in 1 DC (CGY)
  • When I run master scheduling and filter on Item Coverage, wanting to run ONLY my daily orders (and thus selecting P1-18), the thing still generates orders for ALL of the DCs for SKU XYZ, and not just CGY; I am assuming that it is operating under the rule of "if ANY locations for this SKU have coverage group P1-18, then run master scheduling for ALL locations."

Why is that? Is there a way around that? What do I need to do to make it only order for locations that specifically have the specific coverage group I specifically gave them? Specifically?

Thanks,

Tom
