We're transitioning from a legacy ERP to AX 2012. Our current ERP uses a web-service based sales tax calculation (as well as cert and tax prep through a third-party acct firm).
It appears that AX 2012 is pretty concretely assuming that tax tables are loaded, taxes calculated internally at several points. Our, and our AX partner's, assessment is that it's pretty embedded and to move away from internal tax tables to a web-service based engine will be a pretty significant customization.
What options are out there for ISV modules that offer web-service based sales/VAT tax calc for AX 2012?
Can anyone confirm our suspicions around the embedded nature of sales tax calculation in AX 2012?
We have a current partner for a cloud based sales tax calculation, and would ideally continue using this but integrate w/ AX. Any input from someone that's done that?
I do see Avalara out there, but have not looked deeply. Nor have I seen any other options.
