doing some preliminary browsing in the Dynamics AX Glossary, I didn't find a definition of 'deliverable' (what the shipping room ships to fulfill an order line item), nor anything corresponding to a due out--defined as what (in the context of discrete/custom manufacturing) the fulfillment center might request from the factory floor to satisfy its shipping requirement. For example, customer orders a widget, shipping room might pull any of several different widgets from shelf (all of which meet spec), or shop might build one to order, using a build plan that might change without affecting anything that either fulfillment or sales cares about).
How does AX keep these domains loosely coupled to allow those perspective shifts between product as sold, item as shipped to fulfill order, and item as manufactured?
I need a reference/paper/clue to how AX things about this separation.
thanks,
