Converting different format Invoices into other ones (AX 2009 and AX 2012)

Hello All,

I have situation where our AX software is getting Invoices from other system into filesystem and we should read and convert then into other format so that our system will understand them. Invoices are in XML format in Filesystem.

What would be the best technique to do this conversion from one format to another so that same solution would work both in AX 2009 and AX 2012?

Is it xslt transform or something else? I'm quite new with AX and that's why I'm asking advice.

Any advice or example would be appreciated,
