BDC Error during AX 2012 Pre-req check

Hello All,

A colleague of mine is attempting to install AX 2012 on Windows 2008 R2 box. The Prerequisite Validation Utility is showing the status as "Error" for

"Business Data Connectivity(BDC) service application deployed". SharePoint Server 2010 is installed and SharePoint Administration console shows the BDC Service Application status as "Started". What could be going wrong? We looked at the suggestion given in this link http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh575226.aspx. The link is suggesting to create a new BDC Service but we already have BDC service running. So just wondering if I have to create one more.

Any ideas on how to get this resolved will be highly appreciated.
