I'm trying to set up a profile time to a worker, on AX Retail R3, so he can clock-in and clock-out then take a break. I was successful to set up the clock-in and the clock-out, but when I try to click on "break from work" or "break for lunch" I get the error message: "the job ID Start break does not exist".

Any ideas of the source causing this issue ?

we are trying to use expense management. I have one question.after the expense entry approved we can view the financial distribution on the client form but cannot edit the distributio.

to edit the distributio, is EP expense page is the only option? In our senario account person review the distribution and need to modify if required.

Hi,

There is customer requirement where user in HR manager role can attach only particular types of document available in DocuType Table.

So when he opens document attachment form and Clicks a 'New' Button, he should not see all the types of document in that Menu. He should be able to see only those types where he is supposed to be.

I tried to setup Record level security for that security role and put DocuType table and configured Query with DocuType table where TypeId is set a particular document Type. But this is not working. HR person still can see all the document types.

As client has created too many document types, the user will easily get confused which document type to select while attaching a file. That's why they want user to see limited types of documents based on his/her security role.

How to achieve this easily? RLS should work here, shouldn't it?

Customer make an inquiry for the Item in one Store , (Let say Store A), But at that time Item is not available currently with Store A , But that item is currently available in other store (let say Store B) , So in this scenario

1.Can we check Item availability across the stores ?

2.Can we reserve Items across the Stores ?

I already have 1 existing AX2012 R3 environment (for demo) in Azure and I want to have new environment for development & testing

If possible, I only need create new virtual machine ? how about cloud service and active directory for that new one ?

I have an error in AX when I try to send data to C# method: "Argument '1' is incompatible with the required type." In AX i have a real data type and in C# is string data type.

I need to call method in C# and to set my price:

myobject.setPrice(price);

How can I make data types conversion between AX and C#?

How long usually this upgrade installation will be done ? If there's any problem during installation, where I can check it ?

Hello all,

I am upgrading from AX 4.0 to AX 2012 R2 CU7 and faced an issue when opening development workspace.

It is not opening. Neither menu is active (Windows>New Development Workspace) nor Ctrl+Shift+W is working. Some times it does not work because it needs focus on some form (e.g. import ald to modelstore and any other that you can open from checklist). I have tried opening any form but still no luck.

I assume this is an issue of CU7 as in CU6 its working fine.

The workaround to this issue is to set -development command on the shortcut or in client configuration.

In AX 2009, we have external codes defined per company. I see the ExtCodeTable and ExtCodeValueTable in the 2012 AOT but I don't where it is accessible from the interface.

Anyone can tell where this form is now available^

Quality order issue when start for Route operation

Test steps:

I have configured the quality association for Route operation Oper1.

Now created the Production order for 100 quantity

Start the route operation Oper1 for 60 quantity but System creating quality order for 100 quantity instead 60.

System always considering the production order quantity not the route operation quantity.

Hello Everyone,

Just let me say I am fairly new to AX so I am a little green still. All of our environments are brand new AX 2012 R2 installs. All on Server 2012 STD with SQL 2012 and SH 2013. All updated and patch. Only data we have is the demo data and no mods at all at this time. It is all plain vanilla.

I recent installed CU6 to fully fix the issues when using SharePoint 2013 as the EP server. Installing the update on our Development environment, everything went through fine up until second to last part of the software update checklist. The Data upgrade cockpit list all the upgrade task and when I would start it, it create the batch to run the scripts according to my batch group, but would never start. I even let it sit for 48 hours and still no go. No errors either.

So after trouble shooting, I have discovered the issue. Somehow it has created all the individual upgrade tasks with a start time of 12:00am and end of 12:00am which is not allowing the tasks to start in the batch. I cannot find anywhere I can alter these times. I also cannot find anywhere in the AOT to modify these setting. I changed to allow modify to Start/end date for the Batch in the AOT but it would not let me change the Task times.

Also as a test to see if it was one time glitch in the Dev environment. I applied the update to our QA environment which is an exact copy of the Dev and the same thing happened. All the upgrade task showed with 12:00am as start and stop time and I can't change.

So anyone can throw me a bone here I would greatly appreciate it.

I have installed IDMF(Intelligent Data Management Framework) tool on AX 2012 R2. After completion of post installation task, I have scheduled production database analysis(snap shot analysis) tasks and this task throws "Package "InsIndexCaptureStats" failed error". Because of this error I am not able to proceed further.

Any thoughts on this highly appreciated.

Hi all,

Please help.
I would like to get some information that can spark me to create an idea to solve my problem.

I have a form, it has a grid to display data from its view. This view is from a query.
In this view, I have a column called Invoice.
Now I have a new table storing a invoice name and its assigned number. I would like to also display this assigned number.

Then I add this table in the existing query.
I open my view after I add the table, the view is viewable.
Then I go to my form and add a new field from this view to display the assign number.
When I save the form and compile, error message popped up:
Unable to save Control ____(The field I newly add)____ .

Please advise which part may be wrong and resulting this problem. Many thanks in advance.

In AX 2009, what is to prevent someone from invoicing a purchase order that was never received? I've done plenty of searching in the internal AX help as well as the internet and MS Coursebooks but I've come up empty.
