Dimension code combination error message

Can anyone tell me what this error message means?

Function DimensionStorage.setSegment has been incorrectly called.
Unable to find a unique Dimension code combination record corresponding to the entered values.

I am trying to add data in several tables/areas of AX, and I get this error message in multiple places (e.g. Cash discounts, Charge codes for shipping carriers). The error message pops up when I specify the main account to which postings are made in the cash discounts table or charge codes table.

Any help would be appreciated.

How to setup common weighted average cost in ax 2009

Hello,

            we are using AX 2009. In inventory management both finance and physical inventory is checked by site and warehouse.

We are using FIFO for one item group and weighted average for other groups.

system taking different cost for inventory transfers, purchase return, sales return.

If no purchase New cost apply when we transfer goods from other warehouse.

How to make setup for common item average cost.

AX will support both FIFO and weighted average cost in a single company ?

Please help me...

Error - Access rights on table ProdRouteJob are not sufficient (AX 2012 R2)

We are preparing to rollout our upgrade from AX 2009 to AX 2012 R2

Here are the steps that the user does that produce the error:

1) Go to -> Production Control/Common/ Production orders/all prod orders

2) Locate an order and double clicks on it to open it.

3) On the tab Schedule, click on Gantt.

4) In the Gantt try to move a time block and get this error "Access rights on table ProdRouteJob are not sufficient for modifying data".

The user is in ALL the Product, Warehouse and Process Roles and the Purchasing agent Role.

I don't know how to track this down. In the AOT the ProdRouteJob table has a security key of 'ProdTables'. I beleive this is legacy. I can't figure out what the next step is to link the ProdRouteJob to a Role so I can add them to the Role and fix the error. Any help is appreciated.

Need help regarding SysLookupMultiSelectCtrl in X++

Hi,

I am facing a problem, i am using SysLookupMultiSelectCtrl class to create a multiselt lookup grid.The lookup contains two columns Code, Description.But the problem is that i want to show the values of the 2nd column (Description) on selecting a record from the grid.but this does,'t happen, it will always show the first column value (Code) when ever i select a record from the grid. My requiremnt is that i want to show the description on selection in the control.

Hope you aomeone might have a solution regarding that.

Missing MapFieldTo property in mappings in all Maps of the Foundation model

Hi,

I am facing a problem in our DEV application with emtpy MapFieldTo property of all Maps of the Foundation model, e.g. see CustVendTable map

I have also tried to reinstall original foundation model, but nothing's changed. If I set up mappings in the USR layer, it's OK until I restart a client - a change is not written to the model store. I compiled the whole application with no errors and also did a full CIL compile.  We are using AX 2012 R2 + CU1.

Demo data update utility for AX 2012

In AX 2009 there was a demo data update utility for getting the demo data up to date to make the role centers look nice and updated when I want to do a demo.

I can't seem to find this for AX 2012.

Is this available?

Will it be available?

Option Z: Is there anyone who knows if the stored procedures used for the 2009 update util can be used on the 2012 demo data as well?

Route Operations

Hello all,

I have a route which consists of operations like 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80 and so on.

10  -> 20 -> 30

40 -> 50 -> 60

30 -> 70

60 -> 70

70 -> 80 ....

This is the setup of operations in workcenter.  operations 10,20,30 and operations 40,50,60 are independent from eachother. The end items (which is not defined in items table) produced at the end of the operations 30 and 60 goes into operation 70 with some other items to make eventually a final product.

My problem is when there is a problem at operation 60 I like to mark all the components used in 40, 50 and 60 as scrap. however in axapta it marks all the components at operations 40, 50, 60, 10, 20, 30 as scrap where there is no problem at the output of the op 30.

How can I achive a proper structure for such design without defining new item codes?

AX2012 R2 TFS Behaviour

Hi,

I'm just setting TFS on an AX2012 R2 system. It's setup to use a public workspace on a system and seems to work pretty ok. However I've got a few very annoying issues, and I wondering if anyone else has a similar setup, or has experience similar issues before.

Basically the problem is when I checkout an object, I occasionally get the follow error "The AOT node has been deleted." This in itself is not a huge problem, because if I check out again it works every time. However, because the object is deleted and synchronized from version control the object is delete, and I need to find the object again in the AOT and if the object is a table, then all of the data from table is also removed in this process. And this is very painful....

I installed Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 Feature Pack along with SQL Server 2012. I applied the hotfix and everything went fine except Analysis Services Configuration. It's giving an error!

I then tried another option by installing SQL Server 08 R2. The Analysis Configuration was installed successfully in SQL 08 R2 instance. However, while trying to apply the hotfix to re-try configuration on SQL Server 2012,the hotfix components setup wizard did not see the Analysis services components.

Even when deploying the cube in SQL Server 08 R2 instance, it gave an error :

Please let me know how can I have a successful configuration of Analysis services component in SQL Server 2012.

Fixed asset transaction type has not been specified.

Account for transaction type , value model , does not exist for fixed asset BLD-001-014.

Capability Constraint in AX 2012

Hi Experts,

I want system to use relative setup and run time (from operation relation) when system picks alternate work center for scheduling. For example when Item X produced on machine M1, 100 Pcs of Item X can be processed in an hour and on machine M2 200 Pcs can be processed on same time. Both of these machines are having the same capability called 'Packaging'.

I tested this but system when re-schedules on M2, it still takes the setup and run time from production route (defined for M1). Seems, we can not group resources under same capability if their efficiency varies or alternate route is the only option (which requires it to copy manually on production route) ?

How to resolve the error "RetailDatabaseUtility.exe Error: 0 : DBUtilityCoreb__7: Offline-Profile not found" in AX 2012 for Retail?

RetailDatabaseUtility cannot finish pos database creation because of this error.

Offline profile has been previously created at Retail > Setup > POS > Profile > Offline profile.

Creating released products to organizations with FUNCTIONAL license?

Hi.

I am currently attempting to create a security role for creating products to organizations using only functional license. That is, to create released products directly without the release process. I have managed to create a setup using the duty "Inquire into products for operations master" and the privileges "Maintain products for release" and Manage released products details". I think this is a working setup but would like to make sure that creating products into organizations is possible without Enterprise-level privileges and that I won't run into problems in production use using this setup.

Financial dimensions in Projects - Security

Hello.

I am trying to set read level access for one or several project financial dimensions but am unable to find the correct place to override (for example, for the project manager role). By doing an override for the "tabfinancialdimensions" control for the role I can set read level access for all financial dimensions, but not one separately. Is it possible to override access to a selected financial dimension?

Regarding currency revaluation in Ax 2012

Hi All,

Our client have a requirement in Microsoft Dynamic AX 2012.  Req Description : Users will be running Foriegn currency revaluation as a part of the month end activity based on the exchange rate from some website. Then they will do the consolidation for the corporate reporting. Secondly, as a part of their Government reporting they will require to do a foriegn currency revaluation based on the rate provided by the Government (which may differ from the rate from website)

How to handle the following scenario in AX 2012. And how to account for the unrealized gain/ losses in such cases.

Hello,

I have this in my user control:

Server side code:

protected void PurchDateSelected(object sender, DateSelectedEventArgs e)
    {
        TextBoxPriceDate.Text = "Calculated stuff";            
    }

protected void TextBoxPurchDate_TextChanged(object sender, EventArgs e)
    {
        
       TextBoxPriceDate.Text = "Calculated stuff";      
    }

Despite the fact that selected date appears in TextBoxPurchDate and event PurchDateSelected fires up, the value of TextBoxPriceDate desn't get updated. I've tried to use ontextchanged event but it doesn't  fires up unless value in TextBoxPurchDate is entered using keyboard (in this caseTextBoxPriceDate is raised and TextBoxPriceDate gets updated )

How can I achieve the same when AxDatePicker is used ?

I was looking in the InventItemBarcode Table and saw the field RetailVariantId field. It comes from the InventDimCombination Table.

What is this field used for? Is it like the InventDimId on the Retail side?

Is there any way in AX 2012 Retail POS screen, where i ( Store Manger) can request material from the headquarters stating that the item is not avilable in the  Store ?

Or is it possible through any another way ?

XSLT functions when using XSLT Translations in AX 2009

Hello,

I use in Job's X++ code XSLT transformation. XSLT file contains also XSLT's functions.

How these functions should be declared in AX 2009 XSLT file because e.g when using replace function a running job gives a error message:

'replace()' is an unknown XSLT function.

X++ code is following:

xmlDoc = new XmlDocument();
xmlDoc.loadXml(aifXMl);
xslDocument = new XmlDocument();
xslDocument.load(@"C:\Data\Transform.xsl");

Financial Dimension Duplication (Upgrade to AX 2012)

Hi,

When i upgraded to AX 2012 i noticed that financial dimensions became shared across all companies and therefore this became a problem, in previous installations you can generate similar sequences of dimensions since companies are already separated, does anyone ran into this before? whats the best way of handling this?
